The headmistress of Government School (G.S.) Ndongo-Buea, South West Cameroon, Madam Manga Victorine Bissong, has expressed her commitment to collaborate with Voice of Nature (VoNat) in carrying out environmental protection activities with the kids of her school under VoNat’s “Green School Kids Initiative”. The G.S. Ndongo boss expressed her support for this Initiative, to the environmental education team of the Organization during an access-seeking visit to the school, May 26, 2021.
After understanding the mission, and vision of VoNat, and the set of activities to be carried out under the Initiative, Madam Manga said it was a welcome idea, given that one of the key activities to be carried out with the kids aligns with her aspiration for the school. “I love tree planting! We have a vast campus here but it’s void of trees. I have been planning to plant trees in this school for a while now; I am happy this plan will come into realization with the coming of your organization,” she said.
Meanwhile, the launching of the Green School Kids Initiative at G.S. Ndongo-Buea, has been slated for Saturday June 5, 2021. This day which coincides with the commemoration of World Environment Day, will be marked by a series of activities that will culminate in tree planting in the school.
