After gaining understanding about climate change and its challenges following the 2021 EcoKids programme carried out by Voice of Nature (VoNat) and Meg Wah with the support of Earth Rising Foundation, kids and young adults in Bamenda have refused to be passive victims of the crisis. The youngsters have since July 2022 (the start of EcoKids 2022) being calling for greater actions/response to climate change and climate justice using different media including radio programmes.

In one of the special climate change radio programmes, some kids and young adults from Bamenda I, II & III council areas educated communities within the Bamenda Highlands on local actions they can take to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change. In the 1-hour radio programme on CRTV Bamenda, the youngsters reported some actions they are taking to fight against climate change, while recommending other actions that local authorities and policy makers should take to better fight against the global crisis.

In yet another special climate change radio programme, the children used over 1 hour to raise their voices against some injustices identified in the climate change crisis, making some palpable recommendations to the government, companies, industrialized countries and their local communities.

Beside these,  the young climate ambassadors of North West Cameroon, produced short articles and poems, which have been published online alongside open letters to draw the attention of community and local leaders, business persons, the Cameroon Government and industrialized countries to urgent actions they want taken to reverse climate change.
