The Cameroon government has signed an FCFA 650 million worth contract for the reconstruction of part of the Kumba District Hospital that was set ablaze last February 11, 2019.
This information was made public in a tweet, 6:35 PM of Oct 3, 2019, by the Cameroon Minister of Public Health, Dr. Manaouda Malachie.
“I have just signed the public contract for the reconstruction of the Kumba District Hospital, including the block that had been burnt by the secessionists, for a total of 650 million CFA francs,” he tweeted.
The February 11, 2019 arson attack reportedly brought to ashes the Nursing Quarter, Male Surgical and Female Surgical wards, Generator room of the health facility and at least five vehicles. At least four patients also died and others wounded
