Standard Chartered Bank, GHSS Donate Medical Equipment Worth FCFA 38 Million to Laquintinie Hospital, Douala.

Standard Chartered Bank of Cameroon, in collaboration with Global Health Systems Solutions (GHSS), has donated medical equipment to the tune of FCFA 38 million to the Laquintinie Hospital in Douala. These equipment include seven multi-parameter monitors, an eight liter oxygen concentrator, an ultrasound system, three 2-way electric syringe pumps, two ECG 06 tracks with interpretations, two thermoflash, 300 waterproof suits, 62 surgical masks, and 100 plastic bins.

They were donated recently in an occasion that brought together the Managing Director and Staff of Standard Chartered Bank of Cameroon, the Executive Director and staff of Global Health Systems Solutions and the Director and staff of the Laquintinie Hospital, Douala.

Aimed at supporting the Douala Laquitinie Hospital in the fight against COVID-19, the Managing Director of Standard Chartered Bank, Mr. Chuks Ugha, commended the services of the management and staff of the hospital. “The service that you are rendering is a very critical contribution to the success of the nation. We understand as a bank that a healthy workforce is a productive workforce.  So, a healthy nation and citizen is good for the overall economic prosperity of the nation,” he stated.

This donation was received with so much joy by the staff and management of the Hospital, who said it has come at an opportune moment. “The hospital basically needs these equipment to ameliorate the care we give to our patients, especially in the fight against COVID-19. We were running short of supplies of basic protective equipment against the virus but Standard Chartered Bank and GHSS have provided them. They have also provided us with trash cans which are going to help to reinforce the hygienic condition of the hospital and also help to protect and prevent spread of COVID,” Madam Elangwe Joyce Epse Nebasi, General Supervisor at the Laquintine Hospital attested.

The donation of these medical equipment will undoubtedly contribute in enhancing the implementation of a quality management system that GHSS is implementing  in the Laquitinie Hospital, as well as contribute  to moving the facility  towards international accreditation.
